The Farmers National Bank of Agra was chartered in 1921, staffed by three employees and capitalized with funds from local investors. The bank has always been privately owned, its mission to promote local economic growth through offering competitive rates to both depositors and borrowers.

The current CEO and President purchased controlling stock interest in 1973, and envisioned being able to serve a broader public with additional locations. In 1978, a loan production office was opened in Phillipsburg, Kansas, and in 1991 the bank’s charter was officially moved to the Phillipsburg office, with a branch in Agra. The Logan, Kansas branch was established in 1992, and in 1994, majority stock of the First National Bank of Kensington was purchased, making this the fourth full service office location for the Farmers National Bank. In 2006, a new branch office was opened in Stockton. Today there are 29 employees and 7 individuals serving on the Board of Directors.
